New brick extensions and alterations Ashbourne, Derbyshire Dales. Propping existing brick retaining wall and excavation of new footings and foundations

Extensions/Alterations

BLOCK New Two Storey Extension Ashbourne, Derbyshire. Project management and building of double storey block extension.  Existing garage was demolished and replaced with a double storey extension.

STONE Extension and Alterations, Calton in the Peak District.  Single storey extension to a stone cottage in Calton.  Built with coursed limestone, supplied by Mandale Stone from Sheldon Quarry.  The stone arch, quoins, heads and sills are all cut from reclaimed grit stone.

BRICK EXTENSION – Oakamoor, Nr Alton, Staffordshire
Take down original structure, complete all excavation works, foundations, re-routing of existing rainwater drainage. Fit beam and block floor, new insulated brick cavity walls with feature gritstone sills, jambs, heads and quoins. Structural steel works and roof timbers to accommodate roof lantern and balcony area, create new access from existing bedroom through to balcony.

BRICK Two Storey Extension and Renovation, Oakamoor, Nr Cheadle, Staffordshire.  Complete renovation of brick cottage. Works completed, new 2 storey brick extension, reskinnning of existing gable with matching brick, repointing of front elevation, complete removal of existing rear wall, fitting new supporting steel work, complete new roof structure, gutters and spouting.  Excavation of existing floors and replacing with new floor slab, insulation and damp proof membrane.

BRICK Extensions in Winkhill, Staffordshire Moorlands.  New garage, two storey extension with adjoining single storey extension built from reclaimed facing bricks and roofed with reclaimed Staffordshire blue tiles. The new rooms created a first floor family bathroom and en suite to the master bedroom. On the ground floor an open plan kitchen and sun room. Garage and utility room with wet room and attic bedroom room above.

BRICK Extension in Leek, Staffordshire Moorlands. There was an existing single storey attached brick garage which we took down and built a new two storey brick extension with garage at ground floor level and double bedroom above.

STONE Two Storey Extension and Garage Conversion in Grindon within the Peak Park.  These works created a new first floor bedroom and open plan lounge.

STONE Extension in Foxt in the Staffordshire Moorlands.  Stone extension using natural stone. This job greatly increased the size of the existing dwelling. Adding two extra double bedrooms, bathroom, lounge and open plan kitchen. Materials used, pitched walling stone from Birchover Quarry and Marley roof tiles. We also laid new patio and paths.

BLOCK Single Storey Extension Buxton, Derbyshire.  Single storey block extension with steel works fitted to create open plan kitchen, sunroom and dinning room.  Because of access restrictions a ready mix concrete pump was used to cast the foundations and floor slab. The  roof was finished with natural slate with the added benefit of electrically operated Velux roof lights.

STONE Extension and Alterations,  Hartington, Derbyshire, Peak Park.  Single storey extension to a stone cottage in Hartington situated within the Peak District National Park.  The extension is sympathetic to the building, using original or reclaimed materials.  The building is open to the eaves providing a light and inviting space.

STRUCTURAL works to cottage, Waterhouses, Staffordshire.  Propping and removal of existing internal wall, fitting new supporting steel work to create open plan space, also alterations and creating new opening.  Fitting of steel works and all associated stone work.

BRICK Extensions and Alterations to cottage in Whiston, Nr Cheadle, Staffordshire. Alterations, new drainage system, rebuilding of extension and new porch at Whiston.

New Build & Barn Conversions

STONE Barn Conversion – Oakamoor, Nr Alton, Staffordshire
Complete rebuilding of rear elevation wall and apexes. New roof structure. New openings created and fitted with structural steel works. Existing ground floor excavated and replaced with new reinforced sub floor,damp proof membrane and wet underfloor heating. New rainwater and foul drainage. New two storey stone extension and new single storey stone extension with flat roof and balcony area.

STONE Pointing on residential barn in Winkhill, near Leek.  

STONE Barn Conversion in Ipstones, near Leek.  Rebuild and conversion of stone barn at Ipstones.  The walls were taken down, new foundations were laid and we rebuilt the barn with insulated cavity walls using the existing grit stone externally.  New insulated floors and damp proof membranes were laid.  The new house is split over two different ground floor levels.

STONE Barn at Bottomhouse near Ipstones, Staffordshire Moorlands.  The remains of this building were taken down. All existing stone was sorted and sized. New foundations were laid across total length of back wall and end gable. The front wall was taken down to the tops of the ground floor openings. We then rebuilt the main shell with coursed stone work and new timber roof structure, finished with Staffordshire blue tiles.

STONE Barn Conversion in Swinscoe near Ashbourne, Derbyshire.  All existing roof had to be stripped off and main front wall taken down. Adjoining lower building was taken down completely. New foundations laid and rebuilt. We also built new extension to the rear.

STONE Double Garage plus Workshop and Hobby Room in Calton, Peak District.  Stone double  garage with attached workshop and separate hobby workshop built with coursed stonework, supplied by the ‘once a week quarry’ in the Peak District National Park.

STONE Cottage Rebuild in Calton, nr Ashbourne.  The Roof, front and rear walls had to be taken down completely and part of the gables removed. We put in new foundations, floors and drainage.   Whilst also bringing up to the latest building regulations with insulation, damp proof membrane and underfloor heating throughout.  Rebuilt with cavity walls, using existing stone externally and roofed using existing tiles.

Garages

New Brick Double Garage, Kingsley Holt, Staffordshire Moorlands.  All works from excavation of footings to completion.

BLOCK Triple Garage and Store Room Nr Ashbourne, Derbyshire.  New block walled garage/store room, giving a new usable floor area of approximately 96m². Part of the original building had to remain for Peak Park Planning. The building is to be completed with a render finish.  Steel columns and beams had to be used to take the roof load off the original front wall.  We finished the roof with Hawkins dark heather tiles and 8 Velux roof lights, giving additional natural light into the building.

STONE Garage in Ipstones, near Leek.  Complete new stone double garage with attic room above for storage, all stone and roof tiles were reclaimed.

STONE Double Garage in Calton, Peak District.  Stone double  garage  built with coursed stonework, supplied by the ‘once a week quarry’ (Mandale Stone, Monyash) in the Peak District National Park.

Roofing

Major roofing works at large residential property in Waterhouses, near Leek, Staffordshire Moorlands. Re-roofing of entire property including repairs and renovation to structural timber work also rebuilding of chimney stacks including all new lead work.

ROOFING, Winkhill, Leek, Staffordshire Moorlands.  Large double pitch roof, new breathable roofing felt and treated lathes fitted, renewing all lead aprons and soakers  including upgrading loft insulation. Part repointing of apex.

ROOFING in Leek, Staffordshire Moorlands.  Re-roofing in Leek using new slate, also fitted a new Velux roof light and renewed all lead work around chimney stacks and in valley.

ROOF in Calton near Ashbourne, Derbyshire.  Re-roofing in the Peak Park, with new brick chimney stacks and lead work.
